Bun Dough
Thursday evening I had my first Assessment for my Patisserie & Confectionery College Course. I have to say it was pretty stressful. Everything went very well, until I was challenged by my tutor because I had forgotten to brush the dough with butter before rolling it to make Chelsea Buns. I thought I was doing ok rolling the dough into a rectangle. I had to reroll the Dough into a thicker consistency. Which made for a thicker roll, I should have added more filling to the thick dough. Anyway it was baked to perfection and I was pleased with the presentation using nibbed sugar and cherries for decoration.
Next I rolled and proved the donuts, Safly they were a little more oval shape than round. But after I rolled them into sugar then filled them with my homemade raspberry jam. They looked the business and tasted scrumptious.
